About MEDTING

MEDTING is a web platform for medical professionals over the world to share medical images and videos and build clinical cases. MEDTING is a best tool for a physician for sharing images, videos and discuss them with a large community of physicians.

All for free.

MEDTING is a secure, private and closed community for the physicians. Only registered clinicians are allowed to register with their own specialties. They can then post cases along with the images/videos associated.

MEDTING has advanced tools for viewing the images and videos which elaborates the case to the other members. Other members of the community post their comments about the case or refer the case to the known experts within the community.

Medting uses SNOMED and is also integrated with PubMed. Medting provides automatic translation to more than 40 languages.

Patient personal details are never stored in MEDTING and content is the sole responsibility of the physicians.

MEDTING can be useful for any worldwide doctor to share knowledge, search on a sample cases database, provide or receive a second opinion, telemedicine and medical education.

Premium Users

MEDTING use from an independent user is totally free and exclusively for clinicians. MEDTING reserves the right to delete a username that is not participating correctly and not in accordance with the Terms, Conditions and Privacy Policy.

Users that actively and fairly participate and promote MEDTING become Premium. Premium is still a no cost service and it’s just recognition from the community to that particular user.

Premium users become more confident to MEDTING and gain access to some interesting functionalities:

• Premium Users are remarked within the site with a visible icon.
• Create private cases, images and videos, so only invited users will be allowed to review.
• Use the Atlas Viewer, described in the MEDTING Connectors.
• Indicate a website link in their profile. Visitors can then be redirected to the user website.
• Media Syndication: Only clinical cases and videos from Premium Users are published in external websites.

To become Premium User you just need to complete your profile with adequate data, post a minimum of 5 clinical cases and send us en email to info [@] medting [dot] com indicating “Premium Membership” in the subject.

To keep the condition of Premium Membership you should be a fair and active user on the platform and promote Medting between colleagues.

Remarkable functionalities

SNOMED CT for Terminology
Clinical cases, medical images and videos have keywords to categorize the content. Keywords are based on SNOMED CT terminology, which allows MEDTING to index cases and images, relate clinical information, link to external sources and perform automatic translation of the keywords (depending on the user default language selection).

SNOMED provides a battery of more than one million clinical terms in several languages. The more SNOMED terms you use as keywords, the better your content will be indexed.

Pubmed Integration
Medting is also integrated with PubMed. When reviewing a clinical case or resource (image or video) with keywords assigned, Medting performs a search on Pubmed citations.

Medical Media Management and review
Medting is able to manage different type of media including documents (PDF), powerpoint, images and videos. Medical formats like DICOM are also supported.

MEDTING viewer allows to review all that content in different ways depending on the media object. For example, a geospatial viewer for Pathology images (big size) is integrated.

Powerful video management
MEDTING facilitates the management of big videos and images. Big videos can be uploaded to MEDTING and will be coded correctly so that they can be displayed and broadcasted on the internet.

Private or public content
MEDTING allows users to upload content in a public or private way.

Public cases can be reviewed from any internet user since it’s published into the platform. Public cases and images or videos create the MEDTING repository so any professional can research and review different cases samples or search for special kind of images.

Private content (cases, images or videos) can be also posted and uploaded to MEDTING. Those cases will not be shown on the MEDTING website and only invited users will be permitted to review those cases. This functionality is useful for Telemedicine and second opinion services. This a Premium User only functionality. To become Premium is also free.

Vote, comment, social bookmarking and share
MEDTING is an internet social community. Cases, images and videos are valued by MEDTING users, can be commented upon and shared with other users. Also social bookmarking is allowed with main social networks like Facebook or Twitter.
