GlobalStroke: the community for Stroke specialists

GlobalStroke.net is an International initiative lead by the Director of Stroke Telemedicine for Arizona, Dr. Bart Demaerschalk, a member of the Divisions of Cerebrovascular Diseases and Critical Care Neurology, Department of Neurology, Mayo Clinic.

The aim of this project is to create the First International Stroke Network which will provide:

• access to a worldwide network of stroke specialists,
• second opinion diagnoses
• knowledge-based platform with clinical cases for research and e-learning purposes

Objectives
 Creation of the First International Stroke Network for second opinion and knowledge sharing
 The aim is global and ambitious

Products

Medting presence at the eHealth Week

Medting will be present at the eHealth Week and World of Health IT in Barcelona, next March 16th.

There will be presented two very interesting projects by our customers. First,  is thepresentation of the Global Stroke project as a international platform for second opinion and knowledge management for stroke. The project will be presented by the platform leader Dr. Bart Demaerschalk, Department of Neurology from Mayo Clinic.

The second project is the Scientific Social Network recently launched by Madrid Health Region in Spain. Zaida Sampedro, General Director of Health Information Systems, will  do the presentation.

Medting will be present also in two booths:

eDiagnostic booth where our main partner C2C is present. Booth number is 437.

Oracle booth (number 425), where Medting will be present as MMA (Multimedia Medical Archive) integrated with Oracle 11G database.

Medical Content Sharing Requirements (survey)

The survey conducted with the following questionnaire is part of the eContentPlus EU project “mEducator: Multi-type Content Repurposing and Sharing in Medical Education” and Medting is one of the involved partners.

The project is the early stages but seems will bring interesting outcomes in terms of content sharing and medical education by using new technologies.

We are interested in finding out some of your preferences and ideas when you attempt to search for medical educational material and under what conditions you may share your own educational material with others.
