Clinical Presentation: Hematuria
Comment: Renal cell carcinoma arise from proximal collectingtubules and are
bilateral in 10% of cases. 85% of lesions arehypervascular and require pre-op embolization.
Several types exist(papillary, alveolar, oncocytoma) TNM Staging: T1 Small tumor,kidney
not enlarged T2 Large tumor, contained within renal capsuleT3 Extension into perinephric
fat or renal vein T4 Invasion ofadjacent organs
Description: The color-doppler study of the right kidney shows ahyperechoic and
well circumscribed mass which displays peripheralvascularity. Highly turbulent flow is noted
and which correspondsto tumoral neovascularity. CT and surgery confirmedRCC.
