Clinical Presentation: Pre-employment chest X-ray in an asymptomaticfemale
patient.
Comment: In primary tuberculosis, mediastinal and hilaradenopathy is common in
children but rare in adults. Parenchymalinvolvement is present in most patients.
Radiographic resolution ofthe lesions is slow. Rhankeís complex includes lymph
nodecalcification with a parenchymal scar (Ghon lesion), usually asolitary calcified
granuloma.
Description: The frontal and lateral chest X-rays show calcifiedlymph nodes in the
left hilum and left aortopulmonary window, witha left peripheral mid-zone calcified
granuloma.
