COMMENTS: Low grade cribriform cystadenocarcinoma (LGCCC) is a entity, defined in the last classification of the WHO to describe low-grade salivary duct carcinomas or low-grade intraductal salivary carcinoma. The cytological characteristics of LGCCC have not been described.
Differential diagnoses included metastases of thyroid papillary carcinoma (due to the features of the nuclei), cystadenoma or cystadenocarcinoma (because of the cystic content of the smears) and low grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma.
Histologically the tumor was a LGCCC. Cystic spaces with ductal epithelium, apocrine differentiation cells, with micropapillary and cribriform pattern were seen. The cellular atipia were low with foci of stromal invasion. The tumor elements expressed positivity for S100 and CK 7.
